Qualcomm’s Prototypes
- Context-aware communications — the network adapts to app intent and real-time conditions instead of relying only on static QoS.
- Network compute and inference at scale — intelligence distributed across device and edge for balanced energy, latency and reliability.
- On-device AI agents — devices anticipate performance issues and pre-adjust for smoother everyday experience.
- Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) — live drone detection, long-range vehicle detection and precise tracking, turning the network into a sensor.
- Radio digital twins — RF sensing plus AI build high-fidelity twins for continuous tuning and synthetic training data.
ITU and Privacy
ITU’s IMT-2030 (6G) framework adds ISAC, AI-native operation and extreme energy efficiency — targeting over 90% lower energy per bit than 5G. The EU’s PAISES-6G project (launched 17 June 2026, 8 million euros, 18 organizations) is building privacy-by-design sensing so the network can “see” without “spying.”
